Noctis Lucis Caelum, or "Noct" for short is the main character in Square Enix's Final Fantasy XV (originally a spin-off titled Final Fantasy Versus XIII). He's the crown prince of Lucis, the last kingdom in the world to possess a crystal. The rest was lost through a protracted cold war. He's the only son of King Regis Lucis Caelum CXIII of Lucis.
As a result from a dear-death incident when he was younger, Noctis was gifted with the power to foresee the deaths of others. He's the only character who can summon monsters and also has the power to manipulate multiple weapons at once. In the story, these powers are passed down through the royal line of Lucis.
Noctis personality is different from Squall Leonhart and Cloud Strife. He's more realistic, and described as a young guy trying to look "cool", citing his drinking coffee despite disliking it. He's actually naturally shy, but hides it under a cold exterior (something his clothes friends can see). He actually has both heroic and villainous traits, becoming somewhat of an anti-hero.
Noctis and his allies must defend their country when the empire of Niflheim attacks Lucis and the other countries of the world to take control of the world's surviving crystal.
