The Rug Racket is a first-person restoration and shop-management simulation with a dark-comedy crime story. The player inherits a failing rug-cleaning business along with a debt owed to a mob family. Each rug goes through five stages: dusting, colorfast testing, washing, rinsing, and extraction and drying. Fiber, dye and heat rules mean the wrong tool or too much heat can cause permanent damage. Alongside the cleaning, players serve customers with differing demands, manage a three-axis reputation, choose between four upgrade branches and cover rising overhead, while paying a weekly tribute across a three-act crime arc that includes police heat and enforcer visits. Special jobs, such as flood-damaged rugs and mob work, change the rules. The goal is to buy the shop out from under the family.
